    tweeted my opinion about it and Applebee's even responded. Tone deaf but they responded:

    I guess it'll be their problem if their franchisees can't pay Corporate because people aren't eating there.

    We view "The Handmaid's Tale" as cautionary. The GOP views it as an instruction book.

      It seems to me that the DineEquity people have missed the point here.

      This guy wasn't just participating in the political discourse as a private citizen—volunteering, donating, writing LTEs, marching with a sign, talking to all his friends and neighbors, calling radio shows, doing GOTV, putting out signs, wearing Romney sweatshirts, or whatever.

      He put the Applebee's name front and center as the outfit that is anti-Obama. I haven't even paid much attention to his name: to me he's just the Applebee's CEO.

      Portia from Applebee's: a lot of the public thinks that what he says is what corporate Applebee's position is—not his personal views.
