I think that your comment is misleading.

    •  Last time I checked, the First Amendment still (0+ / 0-)

holds.  Comparing Limbaugh to Hitler is ridiculous.  Yes, he's a douchebag and I emailed Sears telling them I would boycott, but this is going too far.

      •  Wow, another misleading comment. (0+ / 0-)

I don't see anyone advocating against Free Speech here, and I don't see any comparisons to Hitler either.

disparage diaries that you never bothered to read?

            •  "continually"? (0+ / 0-)

Rush is a putrid human being and I participated in the boycott.  But you are slamming him here for the same behavior shown here at dailykos.  There have been multiple diaries predicting that some RW loonies are going to lose it and try to assassinate the President or flip out in some other way.  Speculating how people are going to react to an event is no reason to call for the fainting couch.  Rush says enough genuinely offensive things on his show that we don't need to grasp at straws.

I see where you are coming from, at least, when you say:

Speculating how people are going to react to an event is no reason to call for the fainting couch.
But when you assert that this diary is "comparing Limbaugh to Hitler", you're betraying the fact that either you didn't read the diary, or else you haven't comprehended what you read.

                This diary includes the following:

Fomenting violence is an astonishingly obvious way to damage the public interest. And while Rush may not be nearly so guilty in that regard as some others, having the only radio talk show carried on 600 stations makes a weighty issue of what he does say.
Do you simply choose to ignore the nuance that i've included on Rush and violence?

Asserting that "Rush may not be nearly so guilty in that regard as some others" is a comparison to Hitler WILL ALWAYS LOSE, because it is just ---- stupid.

                •  In THIS particular case (0+ / 0-)

Rush is not fomenting violence, and it's dangerous for you to assert that.  By your standards, dKos has been "fomenting violence" much more than this quote by Rush.

Are you then saying that this website is damaging the public interest?

I think Rush has seen what happened to Glenn Beck, and what is going to happen to Donald Trump (who did indeed "foment violence") and I think he's going to try to keep his nose clean in that area and restrict himself to making offensive comments on other topics.

                  •  Then what is this, one month before (1+ / 0-)

losing an election that he fully expected to win?

"RUSH: I have to say, though, folks, terrorism is the greatest threat, because we can still defeat liberals without violence. So terrorism still, of course, represents a greater threat than the Democrat Party. We can handle them without violence. So far."

                    •  that's borderline, but again, he is being careful (0+ / 0-)

If he now crossed that line and told people to take up arms like Donald Trump did, or secede, then he should be compared to genocide-mongerers.

Don't get me wrong, the man is a poisonous toad.  I fully support the boycott and getting him off the airwaves.  I kind of wish Howard Stern would join the fray--along with the boycott, he could deliver TKO.
