  •  No they don't keep liberals locked in the Austin (0+ / 0-)

borders because Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and El Paso proper all went blue this election too as well as the Rio Grande valley.  Just like they did in 2008.  In fact in Dallas it was a complete D sweep of county offices including our Lesbian Hispanic sheriff for her third consecutive term.  And then there is Houston who has a openly lesbian major, the largest city to ever have an out mayor.

Of course the blue in those cities as well as the Rio Grande Valley is a blue comprised of a majority Hispanics and blacks  versus the blue in Austin that is comprised of white college educated folks.

I would hope you find those progressives just as valuable though although the prevailing view on DKos seems to be that they aren't because you are one of many who implies that only blue Austin is worth saving while the rest of Texas, blue or not, is just worthless.

    •  you make a good point (0+ / 0-)

MSNBC has been noting the bluing of texas ... what will all the dittoheads do if the state keeps turning bluer than blue? It is sort of opposite in MA, we might have elected a D senator and our state legislature might be mostly blue -but I live in a red county. It sucks. Romney signs in my neighborhood and people who stick a liberal label on you and wipe away anything you might otherwise be ...

Women are 51% of the population yet are represented in congress by barely 17%! Until our representation reflects the population, we risk sliding backwards .....
