      •  There may be ways for the Feds to get involved, (12+ / 0-)

like actually convicting the sitting governor of some sort of voting rights violation, but alas, impeachment isn't one of them.

If Scott were to be impeached it would be a matter of Florida state law, as provided in the state constitution.

they were talking this up BEFORE the election.
I know they are talking to local governments in the state.
That man can't even talk here lately.  Yeah I agree he could be  arrested and then impeached or others could be named or maybe we have a Gen. Patton out there who could do what he did in a corrupt Phenix city Alabama.....From wikepedia (heard about it all my life)

the post's commander, Gen. George S. Patton, threatened to take his tanks into the city and clean it out himself if the state didn't do something about it (Patton was shortly thereafter transferred and the city remained the haven for gambling, prostitution and drug dealing that it had been).

Is there a typo in your sample letter addressed to the US Senate? Congress would play no role in the impeachment of the Gov of Florida. Shouldn't the letter be addressed to members of the Florida House where the impeachment process would need to start?

The US Department of Justice, rather than Congress, could be involved if they felt that Scott had violated federal law in how he conducted the election. A federal indictment would certainly improve the case to remove Scott. In Florida the governor can only be removed by legislative impeachment. In California the people can recall a governor through the referendum process, but that remedy is not available in Florida. Unless you can convince 2/3rds of the members of the Florida House to begin an impeachment process, based on my reading of the Florida Constitution, I think you are at a dead end.

        "let's talk about that"
