Last I checked there were only about a dozen survivors of the original 50 or so.

...are the candidates EPIC FAIL Israel keeps feeding to the electoral woodchipper. His candidates got creamed in the election, and as long as he's the head of the DCCC and keeps putting Blue Dog/DLC loser candidates out there, we won't have much of a chance of putting the gavel in Pelosi's hand again.

I'd love to know more about this.

        thanks.

the failure to control the House is disturbing. it really should be a focus here (not just all president all the time).

          •  wow - good link (0+ / 0-)
I wonder what [Pelosi] thinks about the breathtaking incompetence so clearly demonstrated [by Steve Israel] across the board last night. All his horrid Blue Dog recruits lost. And, tragically, he was the cause of so many progressives who had ZERO DCCC support losing as well. In WV-01 Sue was beaten out by McKinley-- one of the few things that went the way Israel planned it-- around 60 to 40%.
            A list would be helpful.

Where did his money go, and where did it not go? Who were the potential winners he ignored?

another post, germane to this thread:

Barbara Lee Takes On Corporate Whore Joe Crowley For House Leadership

I was on the phone with the manager of a congressional campaign who told me the DCCC never got involved because-- and this is an exact quote-- "you get blackballed when you don't use their high-priced media people and their pollsters; they all want kickbacks." I hear it a lot, from candidates, staffers and members. The DCCC stinks to high heaven of the kind of corruption one expects from Republicans and the revolving door between DCCC staffers and consulting firms rolling in cash contributed as much to the stupendous failure this year to win back the House as did gerrymandering and Steve Israel's attempt to stock the caucus with conservative Blue Dogs and New Dems who would support his personal career trajectory and that of his corrupt allies. I ended my call with that campaign manager to take a call from a congressional chief of staff telling me I left something important out of my post, namely that Barbara Lee, one of Congress' most outstanding and principled members was running against one of the most corrupt low-lifes in the leadership, sleazy Queens County boss and chairman of the Chamber of Commerce wing of the Democratic Party, the New Dems, Joe Crowley.

It's infuriating but those two factors make it a tough road ahead, to get to a real Democratic House Majority.
