It may well be that the post-WWII prosperity boom was just an aberration in the eyes of the uber wealthy that was necessitated because that group had caused two world wars in 20 years.     The debt reduction talks, austerity and so forth are just guises to reinforce more and more of this. The plutocrats are never comfortable if they can't own everything and everyone.
