  •  ALL the wingnuts are in denial and digging (23+ / 0-)

    in deeper with their CT.

They are dangerous because this digging in tells you - or should - that they cannot tolerate reality. Reality is the only world we have and these turds want to secede from it.

They truly - still - feel like they can thug and bluff their way through shit even though they have had their ass kicked and hands back to them.

There are increased threats to the president. A man in Florida just yesterday re-did his will, wrote FUCK OBAMA on it and killed himself; a lady ran her hubby over because he refused to vote in the election, blamed him for Obama's win.

This stuff is just starting to emerge as the reality slowly, inevitably, seeps in.

They have truly painted themselves into a corner from which there is no escape but to admit being completely and totally wrong.

And they aren't able or willing to do that.

It will fester and be turned to outward expressions of hostility and violence.

Because they are insane in the membrane.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

    •  It started under Bush. (21+ / 0-)

although you could argue that "voodoo economics" and the "Laffer curve" was an early example.

in an October 17, 2004, The New York Times Magazine article by writer Ron Suskind, quoting an unnamed aide to George W. Bush (later attributed to Karl Rove[1]):
The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." ... "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."[2]

I'm glad Barack Obama is our President.

      •  Bush opened the door to let these freaks (15+ / 0-)

come out of the woodwork. teabaggers make Bush look less awful than he really is because THEY are so awful.

But Rush Limbaugh and FOX news hold the lion's share of the blame for 20 + years of unfettered lying and hate speech.

        •  and also (7+ / 0-)

glen beck and all other right wing radio wackos too.

there are people that are on the edge to begin with and they don't need a lot of pushing, look at Aurora, Columbine, Oklahoma City.

outside of McCain five years ago in a town hall meeting when he was running for president has anyone of the right in a leadership position stood up and said "enough. we are one country, let's come together......etc).

I see all kinds of bullshit how gracious mittens concession speech was but he had an opportunity to tell his supporters and those on the right "enough" and he did not do it. he ran a racist campaign and the right had an endless campaign for the last 5 years that O has "not one of us".

mittens=edsel. no matter how much money is spent to promote it, if the product sucks, no one will buy it.

      •  That is such a powerful quote Tom P - (10+ / 0-)
"We're history's actors, and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."
It sounds just like Karl Rove.

How'd that 'creating your own reality' thing work out for you this time, Turdblossom?

This is precisely the kind of cultic thinking of groups such as Scientology, which posits that a person can use their "tech" (once one spends hundreds of thousands of dollars) to return to his or her soul's perfect state in which all reality is 100% under his/her control.   One is "at cause" over matter, energy, space and time.

We call it insanity when it comes from them ( a cult founded by a paranoid schizophrenic on drugs)...but when it comes from Karl Rove, he's called a 'visionary' and a 'genius.'

The truth is, the far right is a cult in its own right.  It deals with loaded language, sacred science (or lack of science), information control, social control, shaming of dissenters, and thought-stopping techniques, among many other cultic hallmarks.

It's what makes them dangerous but may well also be what destroys them in the end.

"The ignorant mind, with its infinite afflictions, passions, and evils, is rooted in the three poisons. Greed, anger, and delusion." - Bodhidharma

    •  We need to be very vigilant (7+ / 0-)

because a significant number of them are not simply unhinged, but armed.

This is something that should be pointed out and dealt with in a very big and serious way.

Nobody would be eager to take away their guns if they weren't so eager and willing to use them.

Al Qeada is a faith-based initiative.

    •  Secession (0+ / 0-)
They are dangerous because this digging in tells you - or should - that they cannot tolerate reality. Reality is the only world we have and these turds want to secede from it
That is one secession in which they have already succeeded.

When someone tells you they are lying, you should believe them.
