about Obama winning because he gave people stuff- I guess I gotta believe they really didn't know they were going to lose.

you would know for a fact that they really don't have a clue that they were going to lose. They seem to be incapable of any sort of introspection or personal honesty.

Personally, I think that a lot of Republicans voted for him because they thought that all those lies were just a way to mess with the minds of Democrats. After all, nobody would EVER actually believe the outrageous shit they were spewing.

Except they really do believe the shit they're spewing. The bizarre lies are all about their attemt top rationalize their racism and bullying behavior.

The fact is that Willard and Paul are deeply insecure, terrified that somebody will figure out that they're not who they pretend to be.

I bet you can come up with a list of people like that in your life. Everybody can. Yeah, they are con-men. Losers. Frauds....

Professional mental health treatment would do wonders for them, but they'll never figure that out.

      •  I can see how Romney & Ryan (3+ / 0-)

as well as right-wing bloggers and pundits, could have deluded themselves, though it is still shocking.

But the top campaign operatives? The professionals? The people who are supposed to inform the candidate, a few days before the election- "hey, this isn't looking good" - even those people believed the spin.

I guess it's delusion, hubris, magical thinking, with sheer incompetence thrown in. I am so glad my party is sane.
