  •  There is a logical contradiction (8+ / 0-)

in the premise of your Diary.

You enjoy the content here on Daily Kos. You appreciate the input of Diarists and commenters to the point where you figured we must be on the payroll.

How do you think this Blog got to be the kind of place you want to be a part of?

It happened because many of the folk you are criticising put in the hours, and months, and years to shape this place into a community; and few of them would be so bold as to suggest changes in the way we do things ... not that change is a bad thing :)

The best advice you have been given is to involve yourself in a manner that doesn't make it appear that it is all about you, and what you think is appropriate.

Don't tell us what spam is, in this context. We know what spam is because we have been dealing with it since 2003.

Any attempt to drive traffic from this site while adding no value to the site, will be branded "spam" ... That is just how it is.

On the other hand, cross-posting is an honorable tradition that we welcome.

I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
but I fear we will remain Democrats.

Apparently for some people, it's deeper than that. Because, you see, I have added value to the site in the form of, as of right now, 16 diary entries, each of which is thought provoking original content.

And that is why I'm pissed. Because of people like you who insist that I haven't added value to the site because you have an irrational bias against back-linking that clouds your judgment of the content itself. Daily Kos is a great site. It deserves better. I get better from more than half of the people who read what I write. There are some bad apples. I want them to go away and have the option to ignore me if they think I'm so terrible.

Brash Equilibrium /brASH ēkwəˈLIBrēəm/ Noun: a state in which the opposing forces of snark and information are balanced

      •  I do not think many on this site (9+ / 0-)

would question my judgement on what constitutes a good Diary :)

I have placed many Diaries in the Community Spotlight that contain links to personal Blogs, and other sites. Even Diaries that are clearly cross-posted. I have no such bias and had you taken the trouble to learn anything about me you would not have made that remark.

Fortunately, I also recognise that some people find it difficult to settle into this place. The natives are smart, resourceful and amusing but they tend not to suffer fools gladly.

Most get over that and become good community contributors.
