  •  I appreciate that, blueoasis (16+ / 0-)

However, I'm not convinced playing nice ever brought about progress. Most of the rabble rousers back in the day had far more radical rhetoric than I. I'm also not convinced some of us want the same things and I want to see some people admit it.

To many people here getting rid of the Democratic Party platform while pretending to be a Democrat is just fine, because they love the Prescient. Well it's not fine and I say so. It makes me angry so I cannot be nice about it and will not be nice about cutting seniors SS with chained CPI or raising the retirement age to 67 on Medicare.

WE have to be honest with ourselves, including the unions who have been abused for 4 years after working hard to elect this president in 2008 and now.

WE have to support the platform over anything else and only those that support it.

I don't negotiate grand bargains with deficit terrorists!

    •  Well, I understand but they'll never admit that (9+ / 0-)

they do want conservative policies because they would lose most of their following.  And there are others who have personally vested interests in the party or jobs or investments related to issues, so all of those things factor in.  Lots of reasons that people allow aspects of personality or self-interest to triumph logic.  I haven't seen that change in all the years that I've been here, though it is a minority.  My only concern is that your writing/thinking gets as much exposure on site and to the many readers from outside as possible, which, whether or not it should be so, is dependent on the number of recs.
