  •  Huh? (0+ / 0-)
    Popular wartime president
    Where does this come from?

People were already pissed about being lied to about Iraq.  The swiftboating worked because of the way Kerry handled responding to it.

Yes, the campaign Kerry ran was his fault.

    •  OK, go check the polls (1+ / 0-)

Bush was not at his 29% approval rating in 2004. And Americans don't like to switch presidents in wartime. Which is what the Bush campaign ran their whole operation around. Add in the gay marriage bans, which Kerry couldn't have stopped.

The swiftboat response was the least of Kerry's worries.

        before the election, very beatable.

Both wars were already won for a long time at that point.  It was more the occupation stage at that point.

It has been shown time and again that the gay marriage ban ballot measures had nothing to do with Kerry's loss.

means re-election. That is why the fundamentals were that Obama would be re-elected in '12. Similar numbers by the time Election Day came.

And what does that have anything to do with him being a cabinet pick? Seriously, no one around here knows how much Sen. Kerry has done for the party since his '04 loss. Plus, the most important point, Kerry would make an excellent Secretary of State. His tenure as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee show he has considerable talent in diplomacy.
