A good friend of mine is a successful interior designer working for an international firm with offices in Miami.  Aetna is her insurance provider through her employer. She has been going to the same OB/GYN for the past 7 or 8 years, ever since she joined the firm.  Her doctor is part of a group affiliated with South Miami Hospital, one of the largest private hospitals in Miami.  Shortly after she learned that she was pregnant with her second child, out of no where, Aetna announced that it would no longer cover that particular group of gynecologists.  For someone like her, who has used this doctor when giving birth to her first child, the idea of going to a different doctor is unthinkable.  She is in the process of fighting with Aetna to at least cover her until her second child is born.  She said there are several other women in her firm who are up in arms about this as well.

Basically, Aetna decided to cut off a high-end interior design firm and a group of successful doctors affiliated with the largest private hospital in Miami for no reason.

It's not easy being a Floridian: PS I'm a lawYER now; no longer a lawSTUDENT.
