  •  It's not there, of course, (6+ / 0-)

but it's hard to imagine how such a "broad attack" could be achieved without considerable civilian fatalities.

We're no longer talking "surgical strikes" -- to the extent that such things actually exist -- when we fantasize about "bring[ing] them to the point of being afraid that everything is collapsing."

"It's not there, of course", but it is there?

The premise of this diary is ridiculous from the get go, that either side wishes to see children killed to advance political ends.

It is adult hatred and animosity that generates killing of innocents.  And, in that, neither side is blameless.

      •  I think it more accurate to say (4+ / 0-)

that neither side gives a flying f*ck if the other side's kids die.

that the only side that behaves with anything remotely resembling responsibility when it comes to the other side's kids is . . . drumroll please . . . the PA.

BIBI: The main thing, first of all, is to hit them. Not just one hit, so many painful its that the price will be to heavy to be borne. The price is not too heavy to be borne, now. A broad attack on the Palestinian Authority. To bring them to the point of being afraid that everything is collapsing.
And what type of "pain" does Bibi think would be "too heavy to be borne" ... maybe killing children?

You see it your way, I see it mine.

state terrorism, pure and simple: not just military targets, but civilian infrastructure.  Hell, it's what Israel does in its major conflicts: Gaza, anyone? Lebanon?

So I think it would be fairer to represent Bibi's position as: "Lots of destruction, and do you think I'll give a damn who dies?"

I'm not sure he even cares enough about "enemy" children to think about targeting them, which would make the death of children coincidental, not deliberate.

We may now debate whether "coincidental" is any better or worse than "deliberate."

        •  The object is to remove their ability to (0+ / 0-)

make war, not to target children.  Your assertion is obviously false.

And a calumny, which, posted on this site damages it substantially and that is why I hiderated your diary.
