This whole election had to have been hugely traumatic for the GOP.  The base may be mindless, but so many of the donors are businessmen - where evidence and results frameworks and management is supposed to matter.

I am honestly shocked not just at the poor management on the part of the GOP, but that with respect to information technology and statistical modeling, they seem so downright primitive.  It's like the frickin' Taliban compared to the US military.  How could it be that one major political party accurately predicts outcomes and targets so effectively, while the other seems totally adrift?

It's not just the disparity, it's the sudden awareness of just how wide that gap is that is most relevant to Karl Rove's future.  They truly believed, right up to Romney and Ryan, and that Fox News ten minutes is what might sink him yet.

I hope Rove survives this because we need our opponents stupid, primitive, driven by hubris rather than facts, ten years behind.  But how on earth is any business executive or wall street financier ever going to trust Karl Rove again?
