Spare me.  Maryland is NOT the problem, and I live in that poster-child-district.  Let's start with one of the many states gerrymandered by the GOP, for a reward of more than just one seat.  Maryland is not the reason why the House is controlled by the party that got fewer votes.

And oh, btw, all those slavery-hating Western Marylanders?  Funny how so many of them have Confederate flag decals on their pickup trucks, placed there, no doubt, by infiltrators from the Eastern Shore.

wavers do not have deep historical ties to Western Maryland.  Unlike the Eastern Shore and Central Maryland, Western Maryland was primarily settled by Germans.

The most racists Marylanders that I have met live in Central Maryland.  They primarily live in the Baltimore suburbs. The highly-transient DC suburbs are not really Maryland. The majority of the people who live in Montgomery, and P.G., and Howard were born in a another state.

Gerrymandering disenfranchises voters. Anything that disenfranchises voters is wrong.  I doubt that you would say the same thing if Maryland was gerrymandered to be 7/8ths Republican.
