  •  So true. (6+ / 0-)

This is a great program but there is something else that should be done that could also have a huge effect.

If a person takes the time to learn how to defend themself against a suit brought by a Junk Debt Buyer they can often win.  When the JDBs are properly challenged they are often unable to provide proof that they have standing.

These JDBs count on getting a default judgment.  It is not in their business model to actually fight each case.

Go ask someone who's old to the point of frail, or who's disabled, or has PTSD or Asperger's or chronic anxiety or chronic depression, how they feel about going into court alone and facing down sharks & vipers & vampires.

      Sorry yo, that don't go.

It's like saying "you can keep your house if you can climb up on the roof yourself and fix the roof all by yourself."

We need mechanisms for these purposes that do not automatically create disadvantages for those who are not testosterone-fortified muscular youth.

Fuck social darwinism in all its forms.

The WEAK deserve to be PROTECTED by others.

      We got the future back.

      •  I don't disagree with you at all. (0+ / 0-)

We need to use every tool available to fight these vampires.

For people that are able they should fight back.  If you go sit in court while they are doing these cattle calls you will see 95% of the people don't show up and get an automatic default judgment against them.
