Nothing comes up for a vote in the House unless John Boehner lets it come up for a vote.  So if any kind of extension of any tax cuts is going to be voted on in the House, it will either be (1) something Speaker Boehner wants the nation to see the vote on -- like a vote to extend all the tax cuts; or (2) something that's part of a deal agreed to by both the President and the Speaker.

There's no way that there's going to be a vote in the House that is intended to embarrass Republicans.  That's not how the House works.  Nancy Pelosi got to decide what came up for vote when she was Speaker, and John Boehner gets to decide now.
