ORCA as we know of it primarily through Republican stories about it was designed to do X and Y.

What we don't know is whether Rove or others opportunistically tagged along on the IT bandwagon to build something bigger & better (for them) that hasn't been reported.  Speculation: additional infrastructure to do Z, that was not disclosed to anyone except on a need-to-know basis.  In which case we would have ORCA-Public-XY, and ORCA-Private-Z.

A few things we do know from Republican complaints about ORCA was that that independent testing was not carried out, and that the user training sessions were more like sales pep talks, and that the system spectacularly failed.

IF there was an ORCA-Private-Z in the mix, that might account for the absence of testing or other steps that might disclose its existence.

Now certain Republican big spenders are complaining that ORCA didn't do its job, it was a waste of $$, etc., and their complaints have become "the narrative."

Since when have Republican big spenders come out publicly pissy about Republican campaigns wasting money?

IF a group of white knights hacked ORCA-Private-Z, that would account for the pissy Republican funders, the Rove meltdown, and other observations that otherwise don't make a whole lot of sense.

Lastly, there are specifics in the Anon letter that could be checked by Republican IT people behind the scenes.  If any of those specifics match, then it would signal to them, "yep, you've been pwned."  They would not come out and say so because that would be an admission of weakness on their part.  But on the inside, they'd know it, and that just might piss off their funders even more.

    We got the future back.

      Noticed that right off.
How many times and how many passwords did they try-Exactly 105
Only reason to mention that is to tip off the pwnie that he's been well and truly pwned. It is something that can be checked.

I do like the final challenge, about "putting all the evidence into a tidy little package and give it to a painfully bored nemesis hanging out in a certain embassy in London."

Although, knowing what I (think I) may know about the ship's captain, that does seem a bit counter intuitive, based on tales of the high seas, and prior actions re: bored nemesis and a certain specific ill gotten booty. Stochastic, to say the least.

... it would appear that the missive went through a process designed to strip out any attribution characteristics in the written text.

Yes, we both know that the captain of whom we speak has reasons to dislike the bored one.  I've gotten unpopular around here for my own dislike of the bored one, but so it goes.

Anyway, I don't think the captain would do anything that the bored one could use to his own advantage, and in any case the bored one's potential to make any trouble for anyone is more or less permanently short-circuited at this point.

If the captain was looking for a publishing outlet, he has plenty of options.

And yeah I think it would be just ducky to see a huge smelly data-spill on KKKarl and his poopy pals.

Here's to the apoptosis of KKKarl and his poopy pals!

        We got the future back.
