    I believe in letting informed representatives making informed economic, legal, and scientific policy decisions.

    I'm not democratic on deciding the protection of rights. The rights of citizens to marry and vote are not something that should be subject to popular/majoritarian opinion, in my mind.

      are by their very nature unconstitutional, in that they put at risk the central tenet of the constitution which is equal rights. And yes, that's exactly why we're a Democratic republic, and not a pure Democracy.  Pure Democracy is an open door to mob mentality, and the founders wisely tried to shut that door.
