  •  Nope, Keep slogging away with the plunger. (17+ / 0-)

Eventually the blockage will clear out.

Saying that we should let him rant and rave is kinda like saying, "Hey, let's give a microphone to Neo-Nazis and Holocaust Deniers!"

A man who lies and fabricates the facts should not be polluting our airwaves.  If the FCC won't take him off the air for his blatant falsehoods, it's up to his advertisers to do so.

And yes, I believe in the 1st Amendment.  I don't believe you should give a bullhorn to the asshole claiming there's a fire in the theater.

I don't blame Christians. I blame Stupid. Which sadly is a much more popular religion these days.

this is their prime "free market" economy radio real estate.

and the "free market" says, "we don't wanna fucking hear you, you ingrate village idiot. we won't support anyone who supports you."

that ain't free speech. that's FUCKING CAPITALISM. ROCK ON!

FASTFOOD MORALS: BIG MAC OR QP? REPUBLICAN OBSTRUCTIONISM=PAST FORTY YEARS FUCKED! WAR ECONOMY=USA ECONOMY=CIVILIAN WAGES=VOTES=RINSE=REPEAT! =OCCUPY!= THEY'RE TAKING AWAY YOUR VOTE RIGHT NOW! CHARGE $50,000 FOR LUNCH EVERY DAY! TRICKLE-UP STOPS NOW!

      •  Exactly! (0+ / 0-)

Use capitalism, which they love so much, against these assholes.  Free speech, sure; nobody is stopping Rush from talking.  We're just telling advertisers and stations that we won't patronize their products if they associate with Rush.  If they drop him or not is not us curtailing his free speech.  It's a business problem.  No matter how much Rush they supply us, if the demand isn't there, it all goes away.  >:)

Lest we forget Huckabee, Savage, Hannity, Beck, and the whole bag of wingnuts are waiting in line to usurp Rushbo's golden throne for themselves.

But so "Flush Rush" solves half the problem, the other half should be filling the air hole with progressive voices like Schultz, Miller, and the whole lot of untapped young talent.

      •  I think you point out the error in this idea (0+ / 0-)

because there is a market audience willing to listen, the investors who cover the airwaves with rush beck levin etc will continue their efforts as long as there is some ROI.  rush is old anyway, so there is likely another talker on deck that we don't even know about yet.

the listeners need to repent.  the ones who listen as if these types are a voice of reason.  no. they aren't. they are foolish, malicious, greedy and insolent.  avoid evil, cling to good.

sometimes I spend more time reading the comments than the diaries. no offense to diarists: thanks for the launch pad.
