Hunger has always been a driving force toward war.

Hunger over the next hundred years will be strained by raw numbers but even more so by the lack of water - even in places that used to have sufficient water.

The American Military - which has completely accepted global warming - they are planning postures that accept the reality of regional war based upon water/food shortages.

We like to think that that can't happen here.  And, a full on war probably wouldn't.  But, if one or two large corporations were able to seize control of large swaths of water distribution and were watering golf courses in Palm Desert while farmers in the central valley lost their land, money and may well be hungry - I don't think that rebellious uprisings are beyond question.

And THX for the support, Fishgrease??? Fish F'in Grease??  I am, very humbled, he was a hero during the oil spill.

Blessed are the peacemakers, the poor, the meek and the sick. Message to Repug Fundies: "DO you really wonder "what would Jesus do?" I didn't think so.

    •  y'r welcome - yeah, FG cut thru the BS alright .. (5+ / 0-)

.. and your "available water for farmers = total water minus golf course req'ments" equation sounds just about right.

At least we're all here to grab the torches and pitchforks.

FG's perspective kept my brain from exploding when BP was shoveling it on thicker and thicker. Hero, indeed. And the writing style.. F'in A+!, where did I leave my torches and villagers?
