  •  Armando's idea, which I'm not sold on... (5+ / 0-) that once stimulus recovery/cash is part of the deal, the metaphorical door will be open to increased spending across the board as localities say, "me too". The reason I'm not sold is that it seems like it's possible that instead of increased spending, we'll get a "trade off" in cuts as part of this deal.

    The recovery cash itself is a no-brainer, though.

      fine to help out the victims of Sandy but we must identify cuts somewhere else to pay for it. You know, like medical care for poor children because rich people already pay more than their share of taxes and poor children don't pay any.

        should have been their 2 unfunded wars and their unfunded tax breaks for the wealthy -- before the fact.

        Now we have imperative Sandy recovery to fund, and now these 'born-again' deficit hawks  will just have to eat it.
