do make-ahead meals by freezing them. Like the chicken pasties that I like to make, the lasagna spinach rollups, and lots of soup. So that way we can just reheat them in the oven or microwave while I'm breastfeeding.

I use the Wholly Wholesome Organic Pie Dough and rotisserie chicken leftovers as a shortcut in this recipe.

    •  Hey Slink. Some foods don't freeze/reheat well. (4+ / 0-)

I found this out a few years ago when my Grandparents started needing help. Every couple of months, some of the family would pick a weekend and cook, then portion and freeze those portions so all my grandparents had to do was defrost and reheat a fresh meal.

Before you create a full batch of any of your favorites (depending on expense too), you might want to try a smaller portion, freeze it and then defrost/reheat and see how it does.

One thing we found that never seemed to do well freezing and reheating was rice in a soup.

Great to hear you're planning to breastfeed. My ex did with our children and it was the best thing for them. If you haven't already, I would suggest getting some input from local breastfeeding support groups on pumps/machines too.

We always thought out choice was the best one for our children, but it was amazing to us how many people were actually very uncomfortable with breastfeeding.

      Good Luck!

Looking back, since my kids are in their 30s now, I cherish the time I spent with them far more that the time cooking.
