    Dental care SHOULD be part of any healthcare system. So should vision care, for that matter. And exercise. And diet. And yearly maintenance.

    Ask any dentist, and he/she will tell you, good dental health is essential to good health... that rotting, untreated teeth provide rampant opportunity for disease, esp. bacterial, which can hurt the heart, the skeletal system, the digestive system...

    I have never understood why dental and vision care were not covered automatically under a healthcare plan... just a simple cleaning and check for decay every year would cost us BILLIONS of dollars less in healthcare costs. And every child's vision should be tested and corrected as early as possible so he/she can actually SEE what their world looks like. (Full disclosure: I wore glasses by the second grade.)

    Oh, I get it... it's because so many people need dental and vision. it's the same as ANY preventive care, which health insurers prefer not to cover; it cuts into their profit margins, it makes the pharmaceutical industry less rich, and the surgical industry (not the doctors... the suppliers) gets rich only when it can push thousands of dollars in crowns or braces.. or the food industry gets rich pushing sugar onto a public which cannot afford dental care.

    It's obvious Mr. Romney has never had to think about keeping HIS teeth perfectly white, straight, and healthy.

    Even when Mitt is lying, there is a kernel of truth... if you only know where to look. Think about the exact opposite of what he's saying (which is what he really means).

    I am sick to death of people who believe themselves so much better than everyone else. I am sick to death of people who twist the truth for partisan gain - not for the good of the country and its people.

    Particularly when I remember the principle reason for this country's existence: freedom and equality for all... and I read the preamble once more.

    I know, we've all read it, most have referred to it at some point in the course of their political discourse, but it is well worth repeating here - BECAUSE IT MATTERS.

    "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,[note 1] promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

    I don't see, included in those words, being mean-spirited, partisan, plutocratic, untruthful, or negligent... do you?

    Why do the (R) and their supporters?

    Oh, yeah. That 'capitalism' thing, again.
