  •  Rat them out to the Health Dept. ASAP! (15+ / 0-)

That's a major health risk, and probably reparable when their relatives aren't visiting. Our new housw will have a tank and leach field to handle holiday visits, thank Ceiling Cat!

    •  I'm trying not to start a war. His wife and I had (8+ / 0-)

it out during the flood in 2010 (and no they never lifted a shovel to clear the road OR helped pay the bulldozer driver so we ALL could get out). I was so angry and just tired of the BS that I really let lose and believe me, she will never forget it.

I rarely lose it. Very rarely, actually, but I totally lost it. I was 57, almost unable to move my back hurt so bad from shoveling mud, and my blistered hands were bleeding (even with gloves). I just lost it. I really, really did.

If I start a war with them, I'll win (even if it goes to court because I have law on my side) but it won't be happy.

Then again, if they push me I have a feeling they know I will snap. And I probably will. I got along with these folks just fine for a long, long time and just sucked it up. Not any more, sadly.

      •  Public health and sanitation are at risk... (7+ / 0-)

...I used to work for a health department. Stuff like that is no joke.

Problem is, it won't be leaking when they come. That will only happen after it rains (for days). That's probably the time to call when there aren't iffs ands or butts about it.

will still be evidence in the soil, etc.  And if your health dept runs a septic test, it will quickly start leaking.

This is not only bad for your health but for the health of the land that is being contaminated.
