I use the term "friend" advisedly. Someone I've known since grade school, who moved to the South.

I hate to use the term ignorant southerner, because I know there's also many who are not (and some in upstate New York who are no better), but I've never seen anyone so deep into right-wing ideology and such a malcontent as this "friend" who moved south years ago.

He's onto this secession theme, the election was stolen theme, etc., but mainly is completely wrapped in religion, and has also been posting about atheists being bad. I had to place him on "ignore" months before the election, but have peeked back lately to see his reaction. It's not pretty.

He's the first place I saw this secession theme (using a reference to a Fox News report, what else). I've avoided engaging him, because I know how stubborn religious ideologues can be. But I feel like telling him to not let the door hit him on his way out (after maybe citing one of the studies that his "red" states are net takers in benefiting from Federal taxes - another theme he's been on, about takers, even though from appearances he doesn't have a very good income).
