    I do agree that he has indeed lost it. But for me, he lost his bearings when he ran for President in 2008. I had never been impressed with him, but he seemed nice enough if a little bull-headed, and that personality trait may have been the thing that got him through his period of captivity and torture.

    But I am an old jaybird, and I know many old jaybirds (though they are getting fewer as time goes by) and some of them have lost their bearings. It has been sad for me to see some of my old friends lose a step or two, and I probably have done the same but won't admit it. But McCain had clearly lost his bearings in 2008, he was well past his prime and it showed. Now it is even worse.
