  •  but how in a sane world (11+ / 0-)

yea I know, we are talking about fox and the republicans, but how could they really believe a sitting President would just sit back and do nothing - what would be his purpose in doing this?  or not doing anything?

Are they implying Obama wanted the terrorists to succeed?

    •  That was basically my response. "Yeah, he sat and (6+ / 0-)

watched Americans being killed without doing anything because that is such a human reaction."

What kind of a cardboard character do they think he is?

      •  they keep going on about the damned talking (7+ / 0-)

points - and Susan Rice - these guys I assume know how the intelligence community works - that answers don't generally come instantly - the final report for instance from the 911 commission came on July 22, 2004.

The commission wasn't even established until 442 days after the attack.

      •  and even more so, (12+ / 0-)

what would be his motivation for doing nothing?  Politically it would be horrific to his re-election.  There's no financial gain in it unless he used it as a pretext for going to war and he received kickbacks from the defense industry which he didn't.  For a crime to be proven there needs to be motive.  There was none.  Zero.  Zilch.

If anything his political motivation would have been to be tough and macho and leave behind lots of bloodied terrorist bodies so bloodthirsty Americans could get their sense of justice and revenge.  Of course we know that in the long run we'd have made even more enemies but prior to the election it would have made for a great war story and derailed many of the claims of his detractors of a lack of spine and action.

        Their whole case is laughable.
