The GOP can't win on ideas. They can only win by lying, cheating, and stealing. So they do.

    •  The sad part about this (19+ / 0-)

is the fact that McCain, Graham, and Lieberman are all booked as the main guests on the Sunday Talk Show circuit this weekend.

So instead of being mocked and shunned for their bullshit, partisan conspiracy theory mongering, they're going to be tossed softballs by David Gregory, Bob Schieffer and company.

      Liberal ass!

      •  Also, I caught a moment's glimpse tonight of Faux (12+ / 0-)

Newz and guess who I saw?  Eric Withholding-news-of-FBI-agent-leaking-info-about-ongoing-High-Level-Investigation Cantor was the guest on whatever show is the 8-9pm CDT Conspiracy Corner on Faux.

The corner logo was "White House Cover Up" and the chiron text under Fuckface's puss was "White House Changes Benghazi Story Every Day."

We Must Wake Up and acknowledge that Faux Newz, the Hard Right GOPers and the RWNJobs on the internet will only double- and triple-down on this bullshit and all other fever swamp LIES vs POTUS.

We have again made the mistaken assumption that a resounding electoral victory + a stunning 2-seat Senate gain means they will admit defeat and stop behaving like 3-year old toddlers in the last throes of a 10-day meth binge.

Logic and decency are the wrong tools for this struggle.  The Hateful GOP Tweakers have nothing to gain by behaving like adults.  Their Hate Machine is creating a baked-in core (30%?  40%?  Hapless Plutocrat RMoney got 47%) who believe all this insane shit and will only ramp up their antagonism when each flailing 'Fast & Furious', 'BenghaziGate', etc fail to gain traction with the slim majority who aren't huffing airplane glue.

As Thom Hartmann and others keep pointing out - a logical argument using facts is useless against an emotion-based position.  Either they dismiss our facts as "lies" or they get more emotional in their resistance to our position, THEN they call our facts "lies."

I listen to lots of "big-name" Progressive radio (Steph, Ed, Randi, Thom then Alan Colmes in the 9-midnight slot) and I am hearing more and more obstinate refusal to discuss: only overtalk, bluster and truly whacked-out bullshit.  They refuse to believe a) Clinton balanced the budget, b) Bush didn't pay for the wars, c) Obama has grappled the Great Recession to a standstill - or that it happened at all.  Except for those who insist Obama caused it.  They ALL know that Obama octupled the deficit to ThirtyGazillionTrillion dollars!!11, however.

Anyhoo, the secession petitions and "ZOMG Obama forced Petraeus to admit to a faked affair and resign to cover up the REAL Benghazi story!!!11" are only the appetizer, imo.  More fucked up shit to come   :o(

The GOP says you have to have an ID to vote, but $ Millionaire donors should remain anonymous?

Will Fox News become even crazier as they try to hold on to the ever-crazier GOP base?  Will demographic changes hurt their ratings and cost them money?  I think so.  Rupert Murdoch loves tabloids, the brassier the better.  I don't worry about Fox News any more, and I don't care what they say.  They are preaching to a choir that is detached from reality and making it even more detached from reality.  That hurts the GOP, a lot.  I don't want them to stop, ever.

They don't make their money marketing reality. They make it by marketing baseless paranoia to their addled fanatics. The FauxNews base has been conditioned for years, if not decades, to reject all LIEberal media and "facts." That is why they can still ignore the fact that global warming is man-made, even as their houses on Staten Island are swept out to sea.

The Conservative propaganda outlets have been in existence for decades, and they remain the source of a great deal of !% incomes for a great may has-been Republican politicians and hack writers. They are not going to stop now. If you want to see the sorts of vomit that is being lapped up by their reader- and viewership, go over to Free Republic.

These guys will never stop until they are dead. But, luckily, we have gotten to a point where there are more reality-based citizens than there are residents of CrazyTown. Let them drive their clowncars, and honk their clown horns. The thing that we must do in response is to mock them and then ignore them. We msut also guarantee that we get a Democratic majority in the Hose, in every Statehouse, and that a majority of Goverrnorships are Democratic. Eventually, a more Leftist party will spin off of the Democratic base, which will replace the Republicans as  the opposing party.

By that time, the Republicans will be a rump, just another footnote in history like the Whigs and the Federalists.

They say "cut back" - we say "fight back"!

like adults who have something to say.  That's how they marginalize women, Blacks, Browns, Reds, purples, gays and intellectuals.
