  •  It is pretty scary at times. At least some of it (10+ / 0-)

comes from high school teachers.  A very small part, I hope.

My granddaughter is in APUSGov now and hates it.   She
has a teacher who is very very right wing.   For Romney and  has told the class that Fox News is a credible news source.  MSNBC, not so much.  She's thinking about dropping the class.

For comparison, she had APUSH last year and loved it even though she had to work very hard---got a 4 on her test :)

I wonder about what could or should be done about getting that teacher removed---  He isn't really doing that much damage except for some of the kids' grades.  Three out of 17 in the class are very conservative, and from what I'm hearing, just about everybody else isn't shy about telling him they disagree when he comes out with some of his nonsense.

This is only marginally fitting with what you wrote about,
but, my first reaction was to flash of g'daughter's problems with her class.

I don't know what we can do for kids who are in strong touch with all the wingers and influenced by them.  I'm doing my small bit by radicalizing my g'dauhters as much as possible.

You sound like you're doing a good job with what you have to work with.   Who knows?   You might have just made a convert.
