  •  Atlantic Wind Connection doesnt (7+ / 0-)

cause its 10- 20 miles offshore.  Not 3 to 12.

And I clicked thru, and the first lease cited in the article is not Cape Wind, its west of Cape Wind.

The Feds have made it clear without meeting Federal financing guidelines, final approval of any wind project wont happen. Atlantic Wind Connection has met those guidelines, and has been approved at every level, they are awaiting the lease deal next year, and expect to start construction off the shore of NJ in 2013, with a final goal of a 380 mile long HVDC grid marine cable to be completed to Virginia Beach. AWC would support 1700 4Mw turbines.

Officials said the areas chosen for the new lease sales were the "best suited" to wind development, and had been sited to avoid environmental concerns or conflicts with locals.

FDR 9-23-33, "If we cannot do this one way, we will do it another way. But do it we will.
