already a fishing site, that the fisherman dont want turbines in, you have to navigate your boat at 5-6 knots, dragging a net, possibly with bad viability.

Then you have fuel oil delivers, motor launches, small aircraft, telephone and electrical cable.

Atlantic Wind Connection is NJ to VA 10-20 miles offshore, so it cant be seen from shore, and has no shipping lanes or other traffic to compete with.

And CW doesnt have ist financing and AWC does, 65% of its 5.5 billion price tag per the Feds.

VC put your money on AWC to be the first to start construction, not CW.

I'm a Florida guy, but I see your point.

          •  I think its important to have these first (0+ / 0-)

projects be good neighbors. In generations to come more people will appreciate the sight of turbines, but for now its important to make nice for political reasons and set a good example.

          •  Feds have stated they want the large scale project (1+ / 0-)

A North Carolina Utility wanted to build about 120 turbines, in the southern area of the AWC, Feds said no. They want to limit the number of landfalls for the HVDC marine cable, they dont want 20 utilities with 20 grid hookups, they want the AWC and its 4 landfall points/grid connections.

I like the AWC because of its large scale and its more of a good neighbor, unlike the Cape Wind project.

      •  See Atlantic WInd Connection (0+ / 0-)

for a real wind project, I dont think CW will ever get built.
