    Don't make the mistake many of us make of excessively fearing the right and overestimating their strength and cohesion. They're just as human as anyone, and vulnerable to fracturing along many lines. Recall how quickly they abandoned Gringrich, Lott and DeLay the instant they became inconvenient.

      the GOP has been very solid in Congress (a lot more than our party). they ditch leaders when they have to, but they don't stop.

      people around here seem to think the GOP is gonna fold, or somehow "come to their senses." I don't see it.

      a lotta pre-mature chicken counting going on around here imo.
