  •  That the man that picked Palin for VP of the US... (9+ / 0-)

...has the breathtaking gall to question the qualifications or "intelligence" of anyone is astounding, IMHO.

McCain has blundered repeatedly on the Benghazi incident, proving that he:  Is too partisan to put country before party; that he doesn't have enough sense to take the time to investigate Why there was a Reason Why All Of The Reports About Benghazi Are So Confusing--or both.

McCain, like most of his republican colleagues, seem to feel free to insult women, minorities, and just about anyone who isn't exactly like them.

McCain has really outdone himself this time.  His rage at being a loser has totally obstructed his judgement to the point that he's willing to jeopardize the national security, and risk the lives and mission of CIA operatives in Libya, by demanding that covert mission details be broadcast in the worldwide media for the bad guys to see.

"The U.S. effort in Benghazi was at its heart a CIA operation," officials briefed on intelligence told the Wall Street Journal, and there's evidence that U.S. agents—particularly murdered U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens—were at least aware of heavy weapons moving from Libya to Syrian rebels.

WSJ reports that the State Department presence in Benghazi "provided diplomatic cover" for the previously hidden CIA mission, which involved finding and repurchasing heavy weaponry looted from Libyan government arsenals...

Since Stevens and his staff served as "diplomatic cover" for the CIA—only seven of more than 30 Americans evacuated from Benghazi worked for the State Department—the spy agency would certainly know about heavy weapons and Libyan jihadists flooding into Syria if Stevens did...

Given that most of the weapons going to hard-line jihadists in Syria are U.S.-made and are being handed out by the CIA, it's not a stretch to wonder if the CIA is indirectly arming Syrian rebels with heavy weapons as well.

If anyone in this GOPer political attack circus is guilty of lack of intelligence, gross stupidity, and endangering the security of the United States--It is John McCain--and his band of embittered sore loser colleagues.

They apparently are willing to risk the lives and mission of our covert operatives, and attempt to trash the careers of dedicated and talented public servants, like Susan Rice, in their blundering attempts to score political points.

    •  yup. McCain really doesn't care about (6+ / 0-)

security or intel - if he did he would have been in the briefing.  He's grandstanding.

All the Teapubs are trying so very hard to find some type of "gate" to hang on the neck of the POTUS.

they really don't care who they endanger in their relentless pursuit of Barack Obama - since they really don't understand yet why the American people elected him twice.

Frankly, they may never get it, which is fine by me.  Forward to 2016.  (and I hope we can pick up some more house seats in 2014)

      •  It's hard to believe he's getting away with... (4+ / 0-)

...exposing things that could help terrorists and the Syrian govt/ Iran/ & their allies--and may already have done so.

If there were a repub. pres. & the Dems were doing this, I don't doubt they'd be on their way to Guantanamo by now, instead of standing up in front of worldwide cameras, exposing US covert operations.

        •  it's funny but as soon as the (6+ / 0-)

Teapub chorus began - my husband muttered "Valerie Plame"...they have no problem outing anything if it serves their purpose.

          •  Yep-ironic that the GOPers yelling about... (4+ / 0-)

arming Syrian rebels are doing all in their power to expose the covert operations that seemingly were designed to do that.

They are deliberately sabotaging possible US efforts to: 1. help Syrian rebels covertly, while maintaining official plausible deniability (important in avoiding direct conflict with Syrian allies: Iran, etc.). 2. Get SA-7 missiles out of the hands of Libya-based extremists.

The GOPer sabotage could be a BFD, IMHO.

I hope to see the POTUS call them into the WH for a huge reaming session, because this time a Dem is in charge of the Justice Dept, the FBI, the CIA etc.--and could use those Depts. to make McCain & Co. see the light about just how unwise it is to sabotage US national security.
