I was somewhat involved in my local Occupy Movement.  I attended marches and once a week, the General Assembly. Bit while my local occupation is no longer visibly active, the Occupy Movement did so much to change the conversation in this country.  It helped awake the general population to just how we are all being fleeced by the bankers and the super wealthy.

Occupy is not affiliated with any political party.  In my local occupation, the Democrats (Move On) tried to hitch onto the energy of it. But many of the occupiers were puzzled by Move On.  That is because even though Occupy is effecting political change, most of the younger people involved in the movement were more primarily interested in social change. But make no mistake.  Social change eventually becomes political change and the President and the Democrats recognized that and were the beneficiaries of it.

"the 99%" changed the entire conversation in this country. I am amazed that people don't see this.

      Thanks for your involvement.

OWS is alive and well in the form of Occupy Sandy -- they are
doing amazing work...simply amazing. I am deeply grateful to them. People up here need a lot of help.
