    in a usable form seems to neglect the need for something like a steam turbine or solid state thermoelectric devices to get the energy back.  While it makes sense for a system that already uses heat, from a thermal solar facility to household heating and hot water system, comparing to Li batteries on cost is pretty unfair, when they are optimized for weight and charge/discharge characteristics.  It seems like iron-air batteries, already making commercial inroads for storing energy generated as electricity, would be the one to beat. It seems inherently inefficient to convert electricity into heat then try to extract it again.
