We have a responsibility to do it. Eisenhower's warning was also an assigned task, a duty. He stated that, "Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry..." could prevent, "the disastrous rise of misplaced power..." represented by the Military Industrial Complex. I think our knowledge is still very fragmentary about how and why the industry of war still runs us.

If every American high school student were required to read Charles Higham's book, Trading With the Enemy, our understanding of how war is built and regenerated would change radically, and we would understand our responsibility to pull the plug on this treasonous racket. Higham's book is about FDR's licensing of certain U.S. corporations to be exempt from the Trading With the Enemies Act for the duration of World War II. These U.S. companies fueled, financed and armed Germany for the duration of the war.

If in addition students were required to read the Hoover Institution's works by Antony Sutton providing history of these same corporations, the same banks, oil companies, engineering firms, and weapons manufacturers, building the Soviet military industrial complex, we would begin to get the picture of how treasonous these companies are. Our Military Industrial Complex is multinational as to its client base. They arm everyone.

In addition, if American students were to read John Perkins', Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, they would begin to see that the Industrial part of Eisenhower's point includes those companies that use the American military as their private expeditionary force for acquisitions and for propping up dictatorships to protect their acts of plunder.

We, the American people, can stop this abomination. We underwrite this treason with a blank check, and we can stop it.

...was a game changer for me. Seems like such a long time ago. The fact is, the book came into my hands from an investment group that specialized in corruption investing and asset stripping.

I now look at the world differently than most.
