    These companies are using him as a scapegoat. The radio business just made a lot of bad bets that has come back to kill them.

    For the last 5 years, radio has been losing huge audiences share to other media. Plus, they made the horrible decisions in regards to growth and innovation. Add to that, there audience has become younger and ethnic while they STILL are catering - in a host of ways - to their focus on older and white demographics.

    Rush is going down soon enough. He knows it and a lot of stations have made that change already. Many of spoken word stations have switched formats to sports. Soon, Rush will "unexpectedly" retire to save face.

    As soon as somebody in the business wakes up, put their big and brave grown up pants on and makes significant changes that would get them to engage their new dominant audience, you'll see Rush suddenly retire.
