    He isn't against reforming the filibuster - his point is that the reforms being offered stand a good chance of not working.

    I'll take what I can get, but frankly I think that the only thing that would really make the Senate a functional place would be a complete abolition of the filibuster - a majority chamber like the House and virtually every other legislative body in the United States.

    Yes, we'd lose some things. But fundamentally the filibuster is more harmful to progressive interests, because it blocks any kind of change to the status quo.

    Still, hopefully if it doesn't work, having changed it, senators will see the need to go further.
