  •  I Am in Total Agreement with the Idea (10+ / 0-)

Since this idea of folks having to report to work for folks who have nothing better to do than troll the mall at midnight Friday is just worker abuse.  But do have one nit - 10:00 AM on Friday is too late and does run the risk that the workers (most of whom get hours set based upon total returns on the day's sales - my daughter is one of those workers) will pay too much of the price.   Most of these workers don't get paid at all if the store is closed because they are part-time.  Historically, many stores opened early on Black Friday, say by 8:00 AM as opposed to their usual 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM.

So I could get behind this with an 8:00 AM start - it attacks the truly exploitative practice of opening stores in the dead of night while also following a work schedule that would otherwise be normal for many retail workers.
