    LIPA, not the public Service Commission. Anyway, I just think it was pretty sinful to neglect people in the Rockaways. If roads were impassible, there are helicopters. People went for days without much help at all from the outside world, none from govt. Doctors w/o Borders set up shop there. They were appalled by the lack of medical care, but we know that's probably true for any community in poverty conditions. People lived in 15 story public housing w/o electricity for 15 days.

      shop.  When they had a strike a few years ago, the Mayor tried to stir up animosity against the striking workers by announcing multiple times that the strike would cost NYC $1 billion per day in lost economic activity, and that was when most people could arrange to work from home, or make arrangements to get to work some other way.
