  •  Michael Savage is even worse. (9+ / 0-)

And per the diary, he may now be #1. He doesn't even pretend not to be a hate-filled racist bigot. And unlike Rush, he's not even occasionally entertaining. (But I'm not up to date; I haven't heard him in years, and I can't stomach even 5 minutes of him.)

    •  Michael Savage at least isn't a partisan hack (1+ / 0-)

or water-carrier for a political party like Rush Limbaugh is. He may be a little out there, but his words are his own, not an echo of someone else's.

      •  But his "out there" is even more bigoted: (2+ / 0-)

I hate to think that replacing Rush with Savage is a worthy trade, unless it does decrease listenership (which is not the issue, ad $$$ are the issue) overall b/c that is when the pols start getting the message.

IF Savage is No.1 for any period of time as well holding a significant listership, then the only answer is to pressure his advertisers/stations even harder b/c he may be less overtly political but he is far far more shy about clear, unapologetic HATE.  We cannot allow his vile hatred to be seen as acceptible in society.

Blessed are the peacemakers, the poor, the meek and the sick. Message to Repug Fundies: "DO you really wonder "what would Jesus do?" I didn't think so.
