if they would get a clue.

I live in Washington State, we were called for Obama with 0% of the vote cast. Even the republicans are voting for democrats here. I am not sure that peopleeven realize that Washington ws once a very republican state.

I look at other states who are voting the exactly opposite of us. I was happy to see president Obama win. I am not happy to see the huge polarization between the different states and regions. I don't think it is good for our future.

I keep hoping republicans will see the light. They all seem to think everybody lost because they were not conservitive enough. I am thinking they woun't be seeing any glimers for awhile...............................

Part of my point is that one way to elect more and better Democrats is to put them in an environment where they do not have a sinecure, nor in one where they have no hope of winning. In the case of a Seat For Life, there is little motivation to work hard at the right things because you are going to be re-elected regardless. For example, even though I live in mostly-Red NC, I am in one of the gerrymandered congressional districts that includes a pocket of hard-core liberals, so our Democratic representative faces no serious opposition and thus is mostly immune from electoral pressure.

with no state income tax, not even able to pass one that just taxed the millionaires and billionaires.

income tax here. Even when Bill Gates begged us to tax him.

People fear if we open the door to the income tax it will trickle down on those of us who are barely making living wages.

We know enough to know that no other taxes will be lowered or eliminated. Unfortunately our state makes a good case for republicans when it comes to trying to figure out more ways to get more money from us. They ae fairly relentless. Yet our tax burden is far less than in Oregon.
