    I never took physics in high school.  I did however, need to take calculus based physics in college for my BS.

      I never got high school physics, but was put into the calc-free class in college -- & really, really didn't get it.

      Much later, when I went back to school, I had to take (linked classes) calculus & physics -- and discovered that it made much more sense.

      The other way is sort of like trying to teach someone how to play music without having them also learn how to read music. Yeah, something gets through, but...
