  •  ummm, I am a left libertarian myself and all I see (8+ / 0-)

in your post is a truly implausible conspiracy theory.....Alex Jones type, little to no fact but lots of conjecture that all is secretly controlled by one group or another and this time it is Global Plutocrats.....

See the problem is that if 2 or more are in on the conclusion, it is no longer a secret and in the modern world it would be on YouTube and twitter within minutes....Everything you posit  can be more easily explained by basic human nature, greed, avarice and plain stupidity.

If the majority of the rich simply try to gain more wealth on their own, damn the consequences,  no conspiracy, the same situation would exist.....

We have the advantage of being able to communicate and organize unlike any other civilization the world has known.....the way information disseminates now, true conspiracies dont stand a chance.

We are in trouble and without serious and systematic change it will get worse, but it is not due to a mysterious cabal of our plutocratic overlords, it is due to the ridiculously short term future we plan for.....

We cannibalize our future daily by burning incredibly valuable material that we need for so much of our modern society, but it isnt because the Plutocrats want us back to the horse and buggy days, it is because every publicly traded company focuses on the next quarter to the detriment of future quarters...stupid but predictable when you base peoples salaries and bonuses on that next quarters profits and not over the 5-10 year performance  Greed will win out period, we could, imo, change the future simply by compensating individuals on long term performance and not next weeks profits....

    •  THANK YOU (0+ / 0-)

A well reasoned response. And it makes me consider this.  I am not sure, and dont really want to think that the system was specifically implemented with foresight (but it MAY have been) but, the system as a whole does seem to be moving in these directions. I still wonder whether it is a result of an aggregation of greed and statisitically "correct" but immoral choices  amongs the true "wealth-units" (be they individuals, familes, or corporations, etc). or at the least, groups/individuals in a position to notice what is going on whom consciously push the "levers" to gain further advantage.  Is the class warfare blind instinct all the way around, or are their general's on the enemies fields?  If the real generals are Rove, etc et al. I think we'll be fine, with enough hard work.

But still fear that there is some deep sh*$ going down.  It all started when i did a research project on the J.f.k. assasination in high school......Then read about m.k. ultra after eating a lot of doses for a while.. sigh

Sins, a society that makes a virtue of greed as our global society has for decades opens the doors for true sociopaths to not only survive but to thrive and ascend the power ladder.......

Competition is good and drives most innovation yet when the only result of Competition is the most ruthless bastard wins we end up with a society that gives a person like rMoney almost half of the vote....

The great majority of people are moral and will do the right thing with the right incentives.....but when we incentivize the amoral we end up with amorality....simple in concept, hard to change.....

field back in the old days tweaked out of my mind on mushroom tea and figuring out everything there was to know, all at once, and then trying to apply it to the economic and social theories I was aware of at the time and relate it while sober like I was William F. Buckley Jr. with the eyebrows going all weird and the voice dragging along for emphasis.

            Really.

            Just sayin'.

and the tone of the diary reminded me of those convoluted, overly thought out theories that were more complicated than accurate.
