it reminds me of an outbreak map of cantagious diseases, like the rage virus or somthin'

Fascinating how they were circled around the original location for years and didn't expand out of the south/appalach until much later, when they took over the effing country.

    Wow, FLA is saturated!!!

Utah's most expensive city has a Walmart; actually located in unincorporated land, outside the reach of Park City's Democratic voters.

But down in the cheap area of the Salt Lake Valley where I live, I can ride my bike to 3 Walmarts in 20 minutes.  More if I weren't old and fat.

      Yes, Walmart is evil.

But they tend to be located in places where everyone makes less money.  No Walmarts on Manhattan or inside San Francisco city limits.  I have relatives in the fancy part of San Diego and the closest Walmarts that I know of are near the Marine Corps base or industrial Chula Vista.

    •  That is a fascinating map. Thanks. I took a part (1+ / 0-)

time job Walmart  in an effort to get enough cash together for a guided hiking trip out west. They hired me for 8.30 an hour and 32 hours a week. No cheapo 10% discount until 90 days have passed. Regular hourlies wait six months for eligibility for benefits. The training program is a joke.

I wanted a throw away job where I could take the money and run. Now the park service has called me for a volunteer gig at the same place I wanted to visit and I am thrilled. Couple more weeks of Walnut and then...heave ho! Never shop there either.
