  •  Macy's is actually a pretty low class store... (7+ / 0-)

Seriously, their brand presence is pretty horrible schlock.

They want to be portrayed as something they're not.

When you realize Donald Trump IS the Macy's brand, it's not a question of sacrificing anything for the boycott.

Who in Void's name would want to be associated with a brand (Trump) that has always reveled in absolute tastelessness to a level that has only been approached in the movie Pink Flamingoes?

      decade or so

well, i was stuck here in michigan without a macys till recently and was disappointed by what showed up.

i am a macys customer since i was a toddler, literally, as i grew up in the new york metropolitan area.

it isn't saks or Bergdorf Goodman, but had high quality stuff for most of its business life.

i've talked in person to a macys representative from new york about the awful stuff stocked in their lansing michigan stores.  a baby, she had no idea what their real competition was or that macys used to stock yard goods and sewing materials.

the current crop of 'businessmen' don't know a damn thing about their brand's history.  you can't really buy decently made, well designed clothing anymore unless you go to a specialty brand.

it is now easy for me to boycott macys as even their credit card practices are insane.  i recently bought a few things i needed for the start of school and paid off the entire bill one day late.  the next day, i got a call from India insisting that i owed the xxx when i had already paid xxx.  no matter how many times i explained that i had already paid it the day before, the looney on the other end could not deviate from her script.  i asked to speak to her superior who said that that the payment would not register for another day or so.  he apologized and deducted my late payment fee for the trouble, but i am just not going to deal with a company that has such ridiculous policies.  last night, i watched 'the best marigold hotel' which has a scene just like this in it where the indian caller treats the poor woman on the other end whose husband has died exactly the same way.  'we must speak to the account holder.  but the account holder, my husband, is dead.  we must speak to the account holder.'

i think these loonies actually believe their bubble and and happy to give them the news: the majority of us out here don't come close to agreeing with you.

      they really are this stupid.

i think the adage needs to change: mix your business with the right politics: politics which is truly patriotic.

trump actually defines stupidity, bad taste and anti-americanism.  macys is going to learn that the hard way.
