The only thing that Keeps Snake Oil Salesmen like Ryan
in Business is the Ignorance of the Electorate.

How do you Educate folks that are Willfully Ignorant and
Don't really Want to Know the Truth ?

If being willfully ignorant isn't a sin against the Lord who created them in His image, everything's fair game and they might as well cop to being basically heathen unbelievers.

This atheist's 2c. I'm appalled at the cynical self-destruction that is being perpetrated by so-called followers of Christ.

      •  The reason the seven "deadly sins" are called that (5+ / 0-)

is because they are self-destructive. Organized religion assumes the behaviors are intentional. I'm not so sure.
Wrath, greed, gluttony, sloth, envy, pride and lust may just be basic instincts gone haywire because self-control is either missing or has been over-ridden. If self-control is missing, is it genetic or the consequence of disease? Is it just that we're not bothered when obsessive/compulsive behavior is self-centered, so we ignore it?

We organize governments to provide benefits and prevent abuse.

    •  I am heartened by the fact (6+ / 0-)

that the public and punditry love affair with Paul Ryan was pretty weak and short-lived. The GOP did everything they could to paint him as a no-nonsense, brainy budget wonk. That lasted about five minutes before the ideologue shone through. The media and the pundits gave far more love to Palin. That's gotta hurt, if you're Ryan.

apparently, the con isn't working as well as the Koch/Rove/ad consultants thought it would. Apparently some people figured out the Tea Party scam, or Democrats did a better marketing job, or something -- otherwise we wouldn't have gained 2 Senate seats + 8 House seats.
