  •  Who are these mythical Chambliss apologists? (4+ / 0-)

Maybe they exist amongst Sunday morning pundits but I've certainly never heard of one before.  And I strongly doubt that they're here - everybody remembers at least to some degree that vicious campaign.  It's not like Chambliss was ever an Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins, who earned their respect through not just votes but also actions and service.  So I'm not sure that searching for "apologists" is anything but a witch hunt.

I havent seen anyone go so far as to say "Chambliss is great!".  It is much more subtle than that (and IMO more insidious). It ranges from things like "good on saxby Chambliss" to "not all the GOP are dinosaurs" to (sorry but) "this is a witch hunt". It is not a witch hunt, and people who know and remember what Chambliss did to cleland know that THAT was a witch hunt, not this.

      •  Huh? I'm not defending any "apologists," I'm (5+ / 0-)

just a little confused.  Occasionally DKos rails against non-existent "threats," usually exaggerated fears of some sort of fifth column in our ranks, and I'm suspecting this time may be one of them.  There's no fifth column.  If the guy took a good vote, he took a good vote, but that doesn't make him a good senator or a good person.  A stopped watch is right twice a day and all that.

keep this community clean of GOP apologists or people easily duped by sweet talking right wingers. If some of us take that responsibility very seriously, so be it.
