I am now used to is seeing homecoming mums with baby carriages attached to them as symbols of the girl's life.  Somehow the mix of the homecoming mum, a symbol of a high school student's fun life, and the baby carriage, a symbol I associated with adult responsibilities, seemed odd.  Not odd now--common.  We have a full-time parenting class teacher--has six full classes.

at the high school my first (middle) school fed, and seeing one of my best student 6 months pregnant.  I was somewhat shocked.  But at least she was committed to completing her education, and she did, having managed to raise her child as a single mom while getting a college degree and working.
